RAF FAMILIES DAY – CAKES REQUIRED!

The Annual RAF Families day takes place on 29th August 2018. The Mothers Union runs the refreshment tent.  Please can people make cakes for this event - freeze in readiness!  Cakes will be collected at 10am from St John’s Church, Hook, on Tuesday 28th August. Please list ingredients used. Thank you in anticipation Jennifer Martin (07803) 505265.

 

YOUNG PEOPLE’S ACTIVITY MORNING – Saturday 1st September at 10am to 1pm at St John’s Church, Hook.  This will be a morning of fun learning about some of God’s Heroes and how we can be a hero for God too!  This is open to children up to the age of 14 (accompanied by an adult) and a light lunch and refreshments will be provided.

FRIDAY LUNCH CONCERTS AT ST JOHN’S CHURCH, HOOK

Friday 7th September 2018 at 1:15pm – 1:50pm.  Come and listen to 35 minutes of informal easy to listen to organ music, played by Stephen Davies, while you have some coffee and cake.  No cost (donations appreciated).  Coffee shop will be open.

 

DO NOT MISS IT! – A very special concert, with a fish and chip supper on Saturday 15th September at 7:30pm in Heckfield Church.  Please order your tickets now, as they are not available on the door.  Please see Parish magazine for all details.

 

WINCHESTER FESTIVAL SERVICE, EVENSONG

On Saturday 29th September at 5:30pm at Winchester Cathedral.  Do come along and listen to our choir as part of the festival and support our Cathedral.

 

FOOD BANK DONATIONS

The donations may be placed in the marked box in the Narthex in St John’s Hook at any time during the week; left at any HMR Church when a service is taking place or taken directly to the Life Church Centre, Elms Road, Hook.

Items Required: instant mash, sponge pudding, pasta sauce, long-life fruit juice, tinned tomatoes, tinned fruit, coffee, rice, tea, jam, toiletries – toothpaste, shower gel, deodorant, soap, shampoo.

 

PRAYER IN JULY AND AUGUST

 

We are open for prayer at St John’s Church every day from 8:30am to 6pm.

 

We are so grateful for our established prayer groups.  Did you know that a “Mother’s Prayers” group meets every month in St John’s Lady Chapel?
