The Clergy

Canon Marion de Quidt is the Rector for the Whitewater Benefice.  Marion has been in Whitewater since 2015, and loves our team ministry in the Benefice. She is also Area Dean of Odiham Deanery, and enthusiastic about nurturing vocations and training. In 2020 Marion was invited to join the College of Canons (to become an Honorary Canon) at Winchester Cathedral.  Marion trained as a scientist, and worked in the Pharmaceutical industry.  A sermon about compassion of God, triggered a renewed search for the Lord's direction and lead to ordination training at STETS in Sarum College, Salisbury.  Marion lives with husband Simon in Hook Rectory. Her weekly day off is Tuesday.

The Reverend Shona Hoad is our Assistant Priest for the Whitewater Benefice.  Shona lives with her family in the Mattingley Rectory, Hound Green. She is working part-time, and is not be available on Thursdays and Fridays.

Although the Rev Peter Hewlett-Smith is now retired, he continues to be part of the team, for which we are so grateful. Peter joined the Army in 1957 and is a graduate of the Army Staff College and the National Defence College. He retired from the Army in 1993 in the rank of Colonel when Deputy Provost Marshal (Army), and continued to be a chaplain to the guards. While Peter is retired he has Permission to Officiate (PTO) and has been a continuous and devoted member of the ministry team since 2001. Peter
