A part time Benefice Administrator is required to work 5 mornings per week (4 hours per day) based in the Benefice Office in St John the Evangelist Church in Hook (RG27) and is the first port of call for many and varied enquiries. The Benefice Administrator deals with all aspects of running the office, ranging from church diary management, lettings, baptism, wedding and funeral administration, weekly notice sheet publication, coordinating the submission of monthly articles for local magazines, ordering supplies, preparing invoices and fee returns and other tasks as required from time to time.
The Whitewater Benefice comprises the Parish of Heckfield with Mattingley and Rotherwick (HMR) and the Parish of St Johns Hook. The Benefice is led by the Rector with an ordained and lay team of ministers and church officers.
The successful candidate will be an organised individual who is able to manage their own workload, is good at communicating and is willing to complete any task necessary to ensure smooth running of the Benefice Office - as they are sometimes the only person on site. S/he will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Publisher. Knowledge of website software (e.g. Church Edit), church administration software (e.g. iKnow Church) or mail distribution software (e.g. Mailchimp) would be an advantage although full training can be given.
The Benefice Administrator needs to be sympathetic to the vision and objectives of the Christian Church and the Church of England.
