Community Garden@St John's

“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it” Psalm 24: 1 (NIV)

As Christians, we believe that God has given us the responsibility of cultivating and caring for the earth: not as owners of but as partners with nature. The creation account in Genesis also shows us that human life is based on three connected relationships:  with God, with the earth itself and with our neighbour.

At St John’s, situated as we are in the middle of Hook, we have the opportunity to care for the earth and our neighbours in a practical way.

We would like to create a space where all generations can work and learn together to grow fruit and vegetables, herbs, and plants. It would be a place to meet new friends, learn new skills and create a fantastic space for everyone in our community.

Here are some ideas of how this space - a community garden at St John’s - could grow and develop over time.  Click on the image below for more details.

All information will be treated confidentially. The results of the questionnaire will be used in discussions with St John’s church council and other organisations to develop the project.
